  1. As expected, the only possible appointments for these two matches, according to confederations rule.
No reserve trios in this tournament.
Now, trying to guess, I think that Uruguay - Tahiti could be officiated by Proença, while Nigeria - Spain Osses. The problem is that if they go on with this rule, some appointments are forced.

    1. The problem with this rule Chefren is that Osses will get a big match even though his first performance had many problems.

    2. Olympics 2012: Gassama got BLR-NZL and BRA-NZL. So why not Aguilar a 2nd time for NGA(-ESP)??
And I am content that my fear that Brych would be only a reserve official has faded away..

    3. Just because this is a small tournament than Olympics and they have a high number of referees, related to the number of matches. It would be a nosense to appoint again the same referee for the same team, at least in my opinion....

    4. Or they stop the nonsense called confederation neutrality and appoint Webb...but I expect Osses, too. And I would also like it, as he then gets a 2nd chance and can improve the things that were not that great in Mexico-Italy.

    5. Low profile match for Brych respect his ability and competence; both teams are out. Maybe he is "frozen" for final match 1/2.
Agree FIFA should be more flexible and to stop the rule of confederation neutrality.
In 10 days new champions league and new eurpe league season should start with first preliminary stage; do you already know who will blow the kick off matchings?

  2. I have finished watching Kuipers and company now. He is in the form of his life :D Very sovereign performance and top-class assistants as usual.

    1. I agree, I fell asleep during the second half but I watched enough. Another very good performance by Kuipers and top class calls by assistants. The match itself was not that difficult, anyway he gave the impression to have under control everything.

    2. Kuipers is one great referee from several years. Not only now.

    3. True, but at the most important point in his career (EURO 2012) he did not show his best performances. But he came back splendidly.

    4. I somehow fought the temptation of falling asleep and I thought Kuipers and co. were excellent. How things can change. Only 12 months ago his World Cup prospects were looking bleak after a disappointing Euro 2012. One year later, he has officiated the Europa League final and is performing well in the Confederations Cup.
We must also praise his assistants, van Roekel and Zeinstra were top class last night.

  3. Fantastic referee and great personality! With great assistents! Always the same guys around Kuipers makes it a great team!

  4. Aguilar for Nigeria-Spain and Proença for Uruguay-Tahiti (thank to Arbitro Internacional).
So, for both referees this should be their last appointment, and it also means that they were well evaluated in the first performance.

  5. Only point if criticism in the first half is AR2 missed offside with Dante goal.

  7. Dive by Neymar, free kick, and goal.
    .....

  8. He clearly seeked the contact and Irmatov unfortunately fell for it :/

  9. Irmatov blows his whistle then quickly changes his mind..

  10. Unbelievable...Irmatov whistles, points to the spot, Italy score a second later and suddenly he allows the goal. What a technical error..

    1. yes, I've never seen that before.

    2. A German referee once retired for this reason...

    3. I don't watch this match. Did you hear the whistle? Maybe he just take his whistle to the mouth? If it was a sound, it's unbelievable, unacceptable and inexcusable mistake which will be strictly punished in referee observer report...

      Delete
    4. Yes I can confirm by 100% that he whistled.

    5. OMG... It's such mistake after that Irmatov could be out from World Cup. And I don't exeggarate :( I'm so sorry for one of the best referees!

He can only show his top-class, counting good performances after this terrible one, but of course after Confederations Cup.

    6. Undoubtfully he will be sent home after group stage. The weird thing is also the rest of the performance was not good. But such a mistake. For me more severe than a missed penalty or wrong red card. Much more severe.

    7. Clearly a technical mistake and he was also in trouble while facing Brazilian complaints. No cards but at least Julio Cesar deserved to be booked.
I'm sorry for Irmatov, but as also Dmitry wrote, each man can have a nightmare.

    8. Unbelievable, how bad two world-class referees from Asia (Nishimura and Irmatov) performed at this tournament. I always consider AFC as the best, or second the best along with UEFA, confederation if we say about refereeing. So sorry for them!

    12. Hello Friends,

I have not seen the whole game, but by what he saw of the Italy vs Brazil during my dinner, performance Irmatov was not the best and I already had the presentiment of: "Oh I mistake but Irmatov will return to Uzbekistan a few days earlier "lol.

Now I saw the controversial bid you are commenting and I just want to scream in despair. How is it possible that the Referee is considered one of the best of his confederation, make a mistake so childish?

The Irmatov whistled for a penalty, but as the Italian player scored ... gave the advantage rule and chose to confirm the goal lololololol.

This is a very serious technical error.

With this error, the Irmatov will be away from the FIFA Confederations Cup Brazil 2013 and committed to its presence in the World Cup next year.

The Nishimura can now rest assured that your co-confederation could do worse than him and tarnish further arbitration Asian.

  11. I'm a big fan of Ravshan Irmatov, but have to admit that today almost all went wrong for him. Well, each man has his nightmare

  13. It seems to me that Aguilar has missed a penalty in favor of Spain.

  14. The defender was grabbing the head of Pedro and pulled him down...
    Penalty for me aswell.

  15. Proenca's four crucial calls were all right. Uruguay-Tahiti was more challenging than I would have ever thought :D

    1. The first penalty seemed to me soft?

      Delete
    2. It seems the referees are giving very soft penalties at this tournament. But in my opinion one can fully give it (blocking and holding without ball).
The advise came from AR2 by the way.
